Hiking Challenge Montserrat

On Wednesday it was time for our hiking challenge at Montserrat. We took a bus to a small village underneath the huge mountain. The hiking itself took about 2,5 hours and the path was very steep and challening enough. It had many stairs and the altitude difference was over 700 meters. But all the students...and teachers made it to the very top!!

When we got up the mountain, we had a guided tour in an old, but still working monastery. The monastery works also as a boarding school for musically talented boys aged from 9 to 14. The boy choir was singing at the Monastery church.

In the evening we went to see castellers training. It’s a Catalan sports, where people form human pyramids. The bravest of the students could also try to climb on somebody’s shoulders to form a pyramid.
